1.    Intellectual property:

This site is the property of Transatlantic Institute.

The content and presentation of the website “http://www.transatlanticinstitute.org” (HTML or Flash pages, fixed or automatically generated, image files, illustrations, sounds, videos, names, trademarks, logos, databases, etc.) are protected by copyright law, trademark law and other intellectual property laws.

It is prohibited to copy, send, distribute, disseminate, sell, publish, issue, cause to be circulated, arrange or modify this website’s material, in full or in part. If you wish to reproduce it, communicate it to the public or extract a substantial portion of its content, you must have received Transatlantic Institute’s prior written consent, unless this is not necessary pursuant to relevant laws.

For example, copyright law authorises:

2.    Links:

Transatlantic Institute is in favour of the creation of links to its site. However, an authorisation must be requested and obtained.  You may send your request to Transatlantic Institute, which will process your request as quickly as possible.  Transatlantic Institute reserves the right to demand the removal of a link to one of its web pages if it believes that the webpage in question is inconsistent with its purpose. Through links, the presentation of a page of this site in a setting not belonging to Transatlantic Institute and the insertion of an image belonging to Transatlantic Institute in a page not belonging to it is prohibited. 

The site may provide links to other Internet sites maintained by others, as well as references to other information sources.  These links and information sources are made available to you solely for information purposes.  Transatlantic Institute does not control these sites or the information contained therein. Accordingly, it cannot be held liable for the availability of the other sites to which it refers, nor can it be held liable for the content, advertising or the products offered by these sites, or for the quality and/or exhaustiveness of the information. 

Transatlantic Institute waives any and all liability for any damages that could arise from the consultation of the information present on the other sites or in other information sources in general, and to which it refers, in particular in case of losses or damages caused or allegedly caused during connections to these sites.


3.    Privacy:

The user's personal information communicated to Transatlantic Institute via its website is processed by Transatlantic Institute, for example, to send a confirmation of an e-mail or to send requested information to users’ residences. 

Said information is not intended to be communicated to third parties other than to the persons designated by the user and those companies whose assistance is needed to attain one of the aforementioned objectives.

4.    Liability:

The user accepts that any access to the site or any use shall take place under its own responsibility.  Transatlantic Institute shall not be liable in any way for any direct or indirect damages caused by the use of the site.  Under no circumstances may Transatlantic Institute be held liable for damages resulting directly, indirectly, or fortuitously from the incorrect or improper use of the site, or following an incorrect or defective connection or any other use in combination with any IT equipment whatsoever or any other specific or hardware.

Transatlantic Institute shall make sure that the information made available through its site is correct and up-to-date. However, Transatlantic Institute cannot in any way be held liable for damages caused following any information that is incorrect, out-of-date or incomplete and communicated via its site. 

The site’s user is aware of the fact that the Internet is not a fully protected medium and that it is not possible to guarantee total security with respect to protection of privacy.  Accordingly, Transatlantic Institute cannot be held liable in any way for any damages suffered by the site’s user following the latter's inputting of confidential or sensitive information.


5.    Governing law and court with jurisdiction:

These conditions are governed by Belgian law and performed in conformity therewith.  Only the courts of the Brussels legal district shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes that arise herefrom.
